A film is the expression of a voice and must be listened to. Any attempt to stifle this voice could be counted as fascism, actor Kamal Haasan says. In a freewheeling chat with The Hindu , he talks about the growing culture of post-censorship social boycott of films and makes the case for putting an end to this kind of activity.

The right thing to do, in his opinion, to a bad film, or one you disagree with, is to look away. There was nothing objectionable to any community in his film Viswaroopam. The politicians are taking cinema too seriously. The people don’t.
