Some of the city’s landmarks are now adorned with captivating installations as the second edition of the Chennai Photo Biennale is under way. Art buffs can enjoy the displays at many venues and public spaces across the city till March 24.
The event, organised jointly by the Chennai Photo Biennale Foundation, Goethe Institut/Max Mueller Bhavan and The Hindu , was inaugurated on Friday. The visual art event was launched with an objective to become a benchmark in the cultural scene of Chennai and make arts more accessible through urban spaces.
Curated by Pushpamala N., the biennale hosts works of 50 artists from 13 countries. From the Senate House, University of Madras, and the Cholamandalam Art Gallery to MRTS stations, the biennale has expanded beyond traditional spaces as a response to the growing interest in photography in the city.
