Work on Rangarajapuram flyover's arms connecting Bazullah Road and Kodambakkam railway station side has been completed. The Chennai Corporation will make arrangements for movement of traffic on the stretch in the next few days, said a senior official of the civic body.
The stretch includes two ramps, connecting a 49.5 metre bowstring bridge constructed by the Southern Railway between Bazullah Road and Kodambakkam railway station side.
The bowstring bridge in the railway's portion of one arm of the project was completed and handed over to the Chennai Corporation in the second week of February.

The civic body has finished the work on connecting the ramps with the bowstring bridge.
The Southern Railway is expected to complete the second bowstring bridge on the Rangarajapuram side in three months and the Chennai Corporation will take another two months to connect it with the ramps.
Most of the work on three ramps of the 962-metre-long flyover has been completed by the civic body. Work on the second bowstring bridge is under way.

The Y-shaped flyover is being constructed at a cost of Rs.23.76 crore, with Southern Railway constructing the two bowstring bridges over the tracks. The work order for the construction of the flyover was issued in January 2008. The completion of the entire Rangarajapuram flyover is likely to take five more months.
The work is getting delayed on account of the slow pace of work along the railways' portion of the project, an official of Corporation said.
