OTA cadets clean Mamallapuram beach

The event was organised as part of OTA’s golden jubilee celebrations

Cadets undergoing training at the Officers Training Academy (OTA), Chennai, took up a mass cleaning of the beach in Mamallapuram on Saturday.

A total of 350 cadets rode on bicycles from the OTA premises in Tambaram and arrived in Mamallapuram in the afternoon. En-route, they distributed pamphlets to the public, emphasizing the need to preserve the planet’s rich natural resources.

At around 3.30 p.m. they embarked on a mass cleaning drive at the Mamallapuram beach, near the Shore Temple monument.

The event, organized as part of the on-going golden jubilee celebrations of the OTA, was inaugurated by the BGS (training and coordination), OTA, Chennai, Brigadier Arul Dennis.

The cadets returned to the Academy at dusk, after the drive. Mamallapuram Town Panchayat chairman M. Kothandapani and Vice-chairman P. Devendran also participated.
