Friday evening saw a massive traffic snarl on the Perungalathur-Maduravoyal Bypass Road after an omnibus was gutted in a fire.
The incident took place somewhere between Tambaram and Peerkankaranai around 9.45 p.m.
As soon as the bus caught fire, the passengers quickly exited the vehicle.

The cause of fire is unknown. The fire tenders couldn’t reach the spot in time due to heavy traffic. By the time the fire engines arrived, the vehicle was gutted.
