Now, book and pay online for various services in temples

Minister for HR&CE P.K. Sekarbabu launches online booking facility for 255 paid services in temples

If you are net-savvy and are comfortable booking tickets online, you can do the same in 550 temples being run by the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments (HR&CE) department too. Minister for HR&CE P.K. Sekarbabu on Monday launched the online booking facility for 255 paid services in temples, including archanai tickets, abhishekam, weddings, silver/gold rath and laksha/koti archanai.

Devotees, who make the bookings online, can download the receipt on their smart phones and use the QR code reader that is now available in these temples. In the first phase, temples that witness large crowds have been provided this facility.  “It would help streamline crowds and provide comfort to devotees. We would also be able to keep tab of such income of the temples. We have directed officials to ensure that the payment details are entered in the portal the same day and payment made into bank account the next day,” Mr. Sekarbabu explained.

The software for the facility has been provided by the National Informatics Centre. If any devotee faces problems with the new system, they can call 044 28339999 and get it set it right.  

Secretary HR&CE B. Chandra Mohan and Commissioner J. Kumaragurubaran were present on the occasion.
