Singer Kaushik Krish

Those who watched the recently released Jeyam Ravi – Arvind Swamy starrer Thani Oruvan would have come home humming the romantic tune of Kannala Kannala . The male voice in the duet belongs to 22-year-old Kaushik Krish, a former student of Loyola College.

“I did not realise my song will be used in the film. Adhi anna of Hiphop Tamizha and I were just jamming and he asked me to sing the song and we recorded it. He said director Raja sir liked the voice when he heard Kannala Kannala (sung along with Padmalatha) and it would be retained in the film. I did not think it will be part of the film,” says this Mandaveli boy, who was thrilled when he heard his voice in the theatre.

“I also watched the movie with my parents and they said it was a different feel altogether to hear me sing for a film,” says Kaushik, who as keyboard player has worked on the re-recording for Aambala and Indru Netru Naalai with Hiphop Tamizha.
