The event will feature the works of 75 artists

Nageswara Rao park is playing host to Art Fest 2018 on February 4, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. The third edition of Art Fest, being organised in association with Greater Chennai Corporation, will showcase artworks by 75 artists across Chennai.

It may be noted that Art Fest was earlier known as Art Mart.

Organised by Vincent D. Souza, journalist and publisher, and Ganapathy Subramaniam, a resident of T. Nagar, Art Fest will feature drawings, paintings, graphic prints and sculptures.

“Seventy-five artists have signed up for the art fest this year. Artworks ranging from ₹1,000 to ₹50,000 will be up for sale,” says Ganapathy.

Every year, the Fest also offers a platform for school students to display their artworks.

“This year, we will host an interactive session for children, helping them create art on the spot,” he adds.

The Corporation will set up the park for the event without disturbing the regular walkers there. Stalls will be set up along the footpath.

The organisers plan to take Art Fest to other parks in the city, making it a pan-Chennai event in the near future.
