A memorandum of understanding was signed between M.V. Hospital for Diabetes, Royapuram, and the Schizophrenia Research Foundation, on Thursday.
According to a press release, the two WHO collaborating centres signed the agreement to study the psycho-social aspects of diabetes and develop methods to improve the mental well-being of people with diabetes.
Vijay Viswanathan, head of M.V. Hospital, said around 40 per cent of people with diabetes suffer from psycho-social problems. This agreement would help with more research in this area, the release said.
