Areas in south Chennai will not get water supply from the desalination plant in Nemmeli on Thursday.
A press release said the plant with a capacity to treat 100 million litres a day will be shut down for maintenance as part of the monthly routine from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Thursday.
Alternative arrangements to supply water have been made for southern areas such as Adyar, Velachery, Besant Nagar, Sholinganallur, Neelankarai, Perungudi and Thiruvanmiyur.
