While the Left parties are keen to work with the Viduthalai Chiruthaikal Katchi (VCK) in the electoral front what could upset their coming together is the Dalit party’s open minded approach towards the AIADMK and the DMK.
VCK leader Thol. Thirumavalavan said he was not projecting an alternative front, but a political arrangement that would ensure share in the government for marginalised political parties. He was also not averse to the idea of aligning with the DMK and the AIADMK to fulfil this objective.
But a senior CPI(M) leader reiterated that his party would not be in a position to include the VCK in the front it sought to form for the 2016 Assembly polls, if Mr. Thirumavalavan would go ahead with his plans for an electoral alliance with the two Dravidian parties.

Even though the CPI, another Left party, had not openly announced its political line vis-à-vis the two Dravidian parties , the party is expected the follow suit.
