Krishna Jayanthi festival

Gokulashtami and Sri Krishna Jayanthi Festival Group and Yadava Samudhaya Valarchi Niruvanam, Meenambal Salai, Vivekananda Nagar, will be organising Gokulashtami and Sri Krishna Jayanthi Festival celebration on Sept. 22 from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. at Radhakrishnan Yadavar Thidal, Erukancheri Highway, Salaima Nagar, (near Doctor Ambedkar College), Vyasarpadi.

Programme details: mangala Isai by S. Dheenadayalan and group at 6 a.m.; Ganapathy homam, Sudarsana homam, Santhana Gopala homam and go puja from 7 a.m.; aradhana for Lord Krishna at 9.45 a.m.; discourse on ‘Sri Krishna Avatara Magimai’ by Thirukottiyur Madhavan and group at 10 a.m.; concert by Karandhai Damodaran and group at 12 noon; cultural programme and felicitation for Yadava community toppers of Classes X and XII at 2 p.m. and procession at 5 p.m.

Singarimelam, kavadiattam, decorated umbrella procession, 108 vilakkupuja procession, dandiya, bhajan, Krishna-Arjuna in a decorated horse cart, children dressed as Radha-Krishna will all be part of the procession which starts at 5 p.m. Children who want to be dressed as Radha-Krishna and those who want to participate in the vilakkupuja procession, should register their names on or before Sept. 20.
