‘Hope CM’s foreign trip is a success’

AMMK general secretary T.T.V. Dhinakaran on Sunday wondered how the State could attract foreign investments at a time of ‘recession’ in the global economy.

He made the remark while replying to a query on the visit of Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami and his Cabinet colleagues to various countries to seek investments.

Mr. Dhinakaran, who was in the city on Sunday to attend the marriage of the son of the party’s headquarters secretary and former MLA R. Manoharan, said he would be happy if the Ministers’ foreign visit yielded positive results.

The AMMK leader said he was like any other citizen of the State in wishing for the success of the efforts of the Chief Minister and his Cabinet colleagues.

Answering another query, Mr. Dhinakaran said there was nothing wrong in the merger of banks. However, the move should in no way affect the employment of the banking staff, he added.

Mr. Dhinakaran expressed his happiness over the appointment of BJP State president Tamilisai Soundararajan as the Governor of Telangana.
