A reduction in the interest rates and a fillip to infrastructure growth will help lower- and middle-income group families have access to affordable housing, C. Shekar Reddy, national president of Confederation of Real Estate Developers Association of India (CREDAI), has said.
Addressing mediapersons in the city recently, Mr. Reddy said if the housing sector received infrastructure status, it would help in easy financing and faster growth, resulting in affordable housing for all.
Mr. Reddy was here to mark the induction of a new set of office-bearers of CREDAI, Chennai. Ajit Kumar Chordia, managing director, Khivraj Tech Park, took over as president from Sandeep Mehta of Jain Housing and Construction. W.S. Habib of Ramky Wavoo Developers is the new secretary, while Suresh Krishn (Isha Homes), V.N. Davadoss (V.G.N. Homes) and S.C.M. Jamaludeen (Jamals) will be vice-presidents. Jai Kumar (Raj Paris Civil Construction) was inducted as the treasurer.
