March 19, 2012 08:24 am | Updated July 19, 2016 11:00 pm IST - CHENNAI:

The identity of the man whose headless body was found inside a trunk that reached Chennai Central by Grand Trunk Express on Saturday morning remains unknown.

A team formed by Government Railway Police (GRP) left for Delhi on Sunday for further investigation.

GRP sources said the team will meet the Sarai Rohilla police personnel in Delhi in whose limits the headless body of a woman was found near the Inderlok Metro station on Saturday. “They will investigate whether the Chennai case has any connection with the one in Delhi,” said a senior officer.

Other teams are involved in examination of CCTV footage obtained from some of the railway stations that the GT Express passed by to track down any suspicious persons. The process of going through the list of missing persons reported and that of those believed to have travelled in the unreserved compartment of the train is also under way, the officer added.
