Four teenagers held for murder

April 01, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:34 am IST - CHENNAI:

Four school students have been sent to a juvenile home in Kellys on Tuesday in connection with the murder of a 21-year-old man whose decomposed body was discovered in Mangadu on Monday afternoon. The prime suspect is a cousin of the victim.

Mangadu police said the suspects, who are between 15 and 17 years, had planned and executed the murder of B. Gurunathan, a building painter and a resident of Choolai Pallam in Nesapakkam. All four suspects are from the same locality as the victim.

Gurunathan was reportedly in love with the prime suspect’s elder sister. This irritated the boy and he conspired, along with his friends, to kill Gurunathan.  They lured him to a brick kiln in Kolapakkam on Friday evening, and stabbed him to death.

They then dumped the body and left the spot. The prime suspect and his friend surrendered at the MGR Nagar police station on Monday afternoon following which Mangadu police found the body, police said.

“Two other suspects were nabbed later,” said an investigating officer.

The victim was a cousin of the prime suspect and was allegedly in love with the latter’s sister
