Bart De Groof, consul general of the Consulate General of Belgium in Chennai, inaugurated the festival.

“Though the European Union has been in the news more for its monetary crisis, it is a matter of pride there is such integration between countries so culturally varied. In places of such dynamic diversity, cultural exchange is very important. I believe a film festival like this is an example of bridging different cultures,” he said.
