Dry day in Vellore, nearby districts on April 14

Liquor outlets to remain closed on the occasion of Mahaveer Jayanthi

All liquor outlets, including shops and bars in hotels and restaurants, will be closed in Vellore, Tiruvannamalai, Ranipet and Tirupattur districts on April 14 on account of Mahaveer Jayanthi, a press release said.

Special teams have been formed by the respective district administration to enforce the shutdown on the dry day. In case of any violations, the license of the outlet would be cancelled and criminal proceedings would be undertaken against its owner, the release said.
