Former Union Minister M.K. Alagiri, who has been expelled from the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK), said that the poll prospects of the party are bleak with M.K. Stalin as the Chief Ministerial candidate.
“The party projected Mr. Stalin as a leader even in the 2014 Lok Sabha polls and we know the results of the elections,” he told a Tamil television channel here on Wednesday.

He said the survey favouring party treasurer Mr. Stalin for the Chief Minister candidate was false.
“The survey was funded by the relatives of Mr Stalin. Will any senior leader openly say that Stalin is more popular than party president M. Karunanidhi,” he said.

Mr. Alagiri said though he was ready to work for the party if invited, it was unlikely to happen.

He was of the opinion that the outcome of the judgment on the 2 G scam would have a bearing on the Assembly election in 2016.
