Shows the incompetence of the BJP government and is an insult to government staff: Stalin

The DMK and the MDMK on Monday slammed the Central government’s proposal to bring in private sector professionals to join the government at the Joint Secretary level.

DMK working president M.K. Stalin said that this announcement exposed the Centre’s incompetence as the proposal had come after four years of the BJP coming to power. “This shows very clearly how the BJP has been running the government with people without talent to frame policies in these important ministries,” he said.

Mr. Stalin said the announcement of lateral entry for private sector professionals was also an insult to government employees, and those heading these departments, especially IAS officers.

The DMK leader said the government had failed to implement the Mandal Commission’s recommendation of providing 27% reservation for OBCs.

“Instead, the government has been sounding the death knell for social justice. The government is attempting to keep away the socially backward and the OBCs from top level government jobs through this announcement,” he said and sought the immediate recall of the announcement.

MDMK general secretary Vaiko too slammed the announcement and said, “the Centre has thrown the legalities in the procedure of appointments that was followed till now into the dustbin.”

Mr. Vaiko said the Centre was functioning as a fascist government that was being run by the Sangh Parivar, destroying social justice.

“This announcement is mainly to place those in corporate companies, supporters of the BJP working in State governments, and especially those with a Hindutva ideology in government posts. This should be immediately given up,” Mr. Vaiko said.

The MDMK leader asked all like minded secular parties, and socially conscious people to strongly oppose this move.
