May 27, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:51 am IST - CHENNAI:

The DMK decided to go for an appeal against the acquittal of Chief Minister Jayalalithaa and others from the disproportionate wealth case to fulfil the expectations of the people of Tamil Nadu, party president M. Karunanidhi said on Tuesday.

In a statement here, he said people strongly believed that like the Karnataka government and BJP leader Subramanian Swamy, the DMK also had the responsibility to file an appeal in the Supreme Court.

“Neutral persons and legal experts are keen that the blot on the judiciary, one of the pillars of the democracy, should be removed. The judgement of Justice Kumaraswamy is not final,” he said.
