Complaint against online release of songs

Producers of the upcoming Tamil film Savale Samali have lodged a police complaint after the film’s songs that were scheduled for release on Thursday were leaked on the internet. The Cyber Crime Wing of the Chennai police are likely to probe the matter.

On Monday afternoon, producers Kavitha Panidan and S.N. Raja Rajan, along with director Sathyasiva and actor Ashok Selvan, arrived at the office of the Commissioner of Police in Vepery with a petition regarding the piracy. Speaking to mediapersons, Sathyasiva said some people had released four songs from his new film online with the intension of jeopardising the music release and the movie itself. Savale Samali is likely to hit cinemas next month.

The complainants said the songs were leaked to a website and had spread across the internet. The actor and the crew lodged a compliant with the grievance cell.
