Chennai suburban train services on Deepavali day

Suburban train services on Saturday, Deepavali day will follow the Sunday pattern of suburban train services in the Chennai Beach – Tambaram – Chengalpattu sector and Chennai Beach – Velachery sector.

The women’s special EMU running between Chennai Beach and Arakkonam will not be operated on that day. The computerised passenger reservation centres in the Chennai division of Southern Railway will function for only one shift, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, on account of the festival, a press release said.

A new weekly superfast train that has been introduced between Patliputra and Yesvantpur, will pass through Chennai Central. On Thursday, train No. 02351 was flagged off from Patliputra. However, the regular service in this sector will begin on November 8 from Patliputra.

The train leaves Patliputra at 8.05 p.m. on Friday and leaves Chennai Central at 2.40 p.m. on Sunday to arrive at Yesvantpur at 8.55 p.m. on Sundays. The regular service of train No. 02352, from Yesvantpur to Patliputra will commence on November 4. The train will leave Yesvantpur at 9.55 a.m. on Mondays and leave Chennai Central at 4.10 p.m. the same day. It will arrive in Patliputra at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, according to the release.
