Chennai building collapse toll goes up further

Till noon toll was put at 60; 12 bodies recovered; one-man inquiry commission set up

The death toll in the collapse of the building at Moulivakkam has gone up to 60. Twelve bodies, including that of a child, were retrieved from the rubble on Thursday. The bodies two women, who are yet to be identified, were pulled between 2 and 2.40 p.m..

Tamil Nadu Fire and Rescue Services personnel believe more bodies will be retrieved during the course of the day.

The Tamil Nadu government on Thursday constituted an one-man inquiry commission to probe the Chennai building collapse.
