2,000 IIT-M students receive degrees

Nearly 2,000 students received their degrees at the 51 convocation of Indian Technology of Technology-Madras, on Friday evening. Among the 1,973 young men and women who graduated, 427 received M.Tech degrees.

Sneha Abhyankar received the President of India prize for the highest cumulative grade point average in B.Tech and dual degree, and also the V. Srinivasan and Professor G.V.N. Rayudu Memorial Prizes. Pananjady Martin Ashwin received the Governor’s Prize for the best all-round performance in B.Tech and dual degree.

Devi Prasad Shetty, chairman and founder of Narayana Hrudayalaya, presided. Pawan Goenka, chairman, IIT-Madras, and Bhaskar Ramamurthi, director of the institute, were present.
