Major clashes broke out at the Chennai airport between members of the Airports Authority Employees Union (AAEU) staff and the CISF officials on Tuesday morning.

Over 500 members of the AAEU gathered at the airport and barged into the terminal in an attempt to prevent the private parties from visiting the airport. About five private players arrived on Tuesday to look at the airport before the start of the bidding process for its privatization.

The members protested and didn't let the private players enter the terminals of the airport. AAI employees have opposed the privatization bid and have been holding demonstrations against this for a while now.
