A public grievance redressal meeting was organised by the Chennai Metropolitan Police at the Besant Nagar Community Hall December 23.
As many as 59 petitions were received at the meeting organised by the Adyar and Neelankarai Range, which was conducted by the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Adyar), R. S. Sudhakar.
The Assistant Commissioner of Police (Neelankarai) P. Uma Shankar, and inspectors of 13 police stations falling under the ‘J’ Category, including R6 Kumaran Nagar Police Station, were present during the meeting, which was held for more than couple of hours.

“The grievance redressal meeting will be held weekly once in Adyar and its neighbouring areas. The year-end meeting will be held at the Urur Olcott Kuppam School, Besant Nagar, on December 30. The inspectors of 13 police stations – J1 to J13 in Kanathur, Chemmanchery, Kannagi Nagar, Guindy, Shastri Nagar, Thiruvanmiyur, and Neelankarai took part in the meeting. The complaints were general in nature. The meeting was held to resolve the pending complaints, and the complaints forwarded to the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister’s Cell. Most of the petitions were disposed of immediately,” a senior police official said.
