The winning team from Chennai of ‘In Our Hands’ programme, organised by Infrastructure Development Finance Company Limited (IDFC), will compete in the finals to be held at New Delhi. One of India’s premier financial services institutions IDFC has launched the youth-centric campaign to empower the youth of India and to create awareness about the current social, infrastructural and environmental challenges. After Mumbai, Pune, and New Delhi chapters, the Chennai campaign held recently at Stella Maris College, Mylapore, witnessed a participation of more than 25 colleges. Dharshan Vijay and Aditya Balaji of Loyola College emerged as winners and Kohsheen Chatta and Mohd. Yashab Abbas of SRM Engineering College stood as runners in the inter-collegiate debate. In quiz, Prateek Vijayavargia and Kavin Aadithiyan of IIT-Madras were winners and Abu Alex Mathew and S Ram Arvind of Loyola College finished as runners-up. The country-wide campaign covering six cities and expecting participation of 70 colleges is to culminate with the finals in New Delhi on December 10, where the Chennai winners are to compete with students from other States.

“Through this initiative, IDFC contributes to shaping the future development of the country ensuring that the youth own their future and take responsibility for what they do today,” said Arun Raste of IDFC Limited.
