Mahesh Dattani comes to MY Theatre Fest

Dramatist and playwright Mahesh Dattani will conduct a free workshop for students of 16 colleges from across the country as part of My Theatre Fest, a youth theatre carnival organised by Crea-Shakthi, a city-based theatre group.

MY Theatre Fest will be held from January 9 to 13, and on four subsequent weekends.

Now in its second edition, the theatre festival, conducted in association with The Goethe Institut, Chennai, includes public performances and ‘Dramalog – II’, a series of workshops and contests with cash prizes worth Rs. 1,00,000.

Three plays will be staged each day between January 9 and 13 by college teams. Shows start at 6.30 p.m. everyday. On the final day, shows begin at 3.30 p.m., followed by a seminar on “Youth Theatre & the Indian performing arts scene” and the awards ceremony.
