Komal Swaminathan’s award-winning play Thanneer Thanneer that was made into a much-acclaimed film by K. Balachander and translated into English by S. Shankar will be staged by The Madras Players on November 30 and December 1 and 2 at 7.15 p.m. at the Museum Theatre.

The play is located in the water-starved village of Athipatti in Tirunelveli district, into which a stranger stumbles upon accidently. How he stirs this village into action through self-belief forms the rest of the story.
