Taking a serious view of the gruesome murder of a woman software professional inside Siruseri IT Park, Chief Minister Jayalalithaa on Sunday ordered the CB-CID to take up investigation.
The day after the decomposed body of a 23-year old woman, a Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) employee, was found in an isolated spot off the first main road of the IT Park, Director-General of Police (DGP) K. Ramanujam inspected the site and held enquiries.
M.Subbaiah, Inspector, Kelambakkam police station, was suspended on Sunday for slackness in investigation, said a senior official who accompanied the DGP. Rajendra Prasad, Inspector, Thazhambur police station, has been given additional charge of Kelambakkam station.

Bones of the limbs and cervical area were exposed and there was a possibility that the body was bitten by animals, Dr. Parasakthi said.
The Kancheepuram district police have formed six special teams, each headed by an inspector and under the supervision of a Deputy Superintendent of Police to investigate the case, but the investigation has not made much progress yet.

The DGP issued a note on Sunday announcing a reward of up to Rs. 2 lakh for information leading to the identity of the culprits or helping the police in apprehending them.
