Two juveniles among six held for selling ganja

The city police detained six persons, including two juveniles for selling ganja on Tuesday.

Five persons, including the two juveniles, were detained in Kannagi Nagar after the police found ganja packets in their possession. A patrol team checking vehicles noticed the juveniles, along with three men, moving about in a suspicious manner. When they stopped and questioned them, all five gave different answers and when the patrol team inspected the bag, they found the ganja packets.

The five persons were taken to the police station, where three of them were identified as Seela alias Jayaseelan (37), Sathya (25) and Shankar (27). All the five were from Kannagi Nagar.

In another incident, the Basin Bridge police detained M. Vel Azhagi, (53) for selling ganja. She was nabbed during a routine patrol in K.B. Park Tamil Nadu Housing Board tenements.

More than one kg of ganja was seized from the woman who had been arrested on same charges earlier as well, police said.
