Traffic restrictions in T. Nagar for Akshaya Tritiya

The police have announced certain traffic restrictions in and around T. Nagar on Sunday for Akshaya Tritiya as they expect a large number of shoppers to come to the area.

Special vehicle parking arrangements have also been made in T. Nagar, according to a release.

Parking facilities for cars and two-wheelers will be available on Ramanathan Street, Mahalakshmi Street, Ramakrishna Mission School on Bashyam Road, Corporation Middle School on Prakasam Road, Saradha Girls Schools on North Usman Road and Burkit Road, G N Chetty Road and around the Somasundaram playground.

Parking for cars would also be available on one side of Burkit Road and Bashyam Road.

Senior citizens and physically challenged persons will be allowed up to Panagal Park and Corporation Middle School on Prakasam Road, the release said.

Diversion

To reduce traffic congestion on Nageswara Rao, Usman Road and Duraisamy Road, autorickshaws would be diverted at the junction of Venkatnarayana Road Junction and Nageswara Rao Road to Prakasam Road to pick up passengers.

Autorickshaws can drop passengers on Dhandapani Street and at the Burkit Road junction.

All roads connecting Dhandapani Street to Usman Road and South Dhandapani Street to South Usman Road will remain blocked at the entrance on Sunday and autorickshaws would not be permitted to enter Usman Road and South Usman Road.

There will be restrictions on movement of autorickshaws in the following places: Theyagaraya Road-Thanikachalam Road junction towards Panagal Park; Brindavan junction towards Panagal Park; Muthurangan Salai towards Madley junction; Kannammapet junction towards Madley junction; Coats Road and North Usman Service Road towards Panagal Park, Rohini roundabout towards Panagal Park; and North Usman Road-M.S.Salai junction towards Panagal Park, the press release said.
