Students from city colleges clash on bus

Students from two colleges in the city clashed on board an MTC bus in Anna Nagar on Wednesday, causing much chaos.

Police sources said that students of Pachaiyappa’s College and Presidency College, who were travelling in the bus connecting Anna Square and Ambattur, reportedly got into a brawl near Shanti Colony.

The bus driver, Venkatachalam, stopped the bus and the passengers fled after the student groups clashed.

Stones pelted

When the students got off the bus during their brawl, they pelted stones at the vehicle, damaging a few window panes.

Police sources further said that some of the students had weapons on them.

While the police claimed that no one was injured, sources said that a woman passenger had been injured and was treated as an outpatient at a nearby private hospital.

A case has been registered at the Anna Nagar police station.
