Equitable education alone can eliminate any syllabus or curricula-based differences and bring about equal employment opportunities for students all over the country, said V. Vaithilingam, Puducherry Chief Minister.
Speaking at a function to mark the inauguration of new class room buildings for Sri Vageesha Vidhyashram at Melur near here on Sunday, Mr. Vaithilingam said equitable education would bring about a sense of confidence in students about career prospects. Educational differences, either region-based or State-based, could be eliminated only through equitable education, he said.
M. Ponnavaikko, Vice-Chancellor, emphasised the role of teachers in shaping the character of students.

R. Madhvachariar, founder and correspondent of the school, said the school was started with a view to providing quality education to students. K. Santhanam, an educationist, said that the school had a strength of about 800 students.
Ram Santhanam, Chairman, Wheels India Limited, Chennai, who declared open the school buildings, said quality education was a must for building the character of future citizens. Moral values were more pronounced in India, only because of the educational pattern in vogue across the country. Educational opportunities had blessed a large number of youths with career opportunities.
