State has done well in health: expert

Tamil Nadu has done well in improving its health indicators and much of the explanation for this goes to the administrative and public health policies adopted by the State which were implemented in Sri Lanka two to three decades ago.

Describing Tamil Nadu as a potential successful model for the rest of the country to adopt, Ravi P. Rannan-Eliya, Director of Colombo-based Institute for Health Policy, said there were several similarities between Sri Lanka and Tamil Nadu that made health-related policies of one place implementable in the other.
