Parking arrangements for Republic Day parade

In view of the Republic Day parade to be held on Kamaraj Salai on Wednesday, the traffic police have made parking arrangements near the Gandhi statue.

A press release said that cars with yellow passes would be allowed up to the Gandhi statue. After the pass holders get down at Gandhi statue, the vehicles could be parked in the DGP office compound.

Cars having pink passes would be allowed to park inside QMC compound with invitees allowed to get down at Gandhi statue.

Cars bearing blue passes and coming on Dr. Radhakrishnan Salai would be diverted via the service road of the Light House Railway Station of the Mass Rapid Transit System and go via Lloyds Road for invitees to get down at the Kamaraj Salai-Lloyds Road junction. These vehicles would be parked along the Foreshore Road of the Marina beach. Invitees coming in cars from War Memorial towards Kamaraj Salai should get down at the Kamaraj Salai-Lloyds Road junction and the vehicles should be parked on the Foreshore Road. Cars coming from Santhome towards Gandhi statue should drop the invitees at Light House and the vehicles should be parked on Foreshore Road.

Vehicles having passes will be allowed up to 7.30 a.m.

Vehicles without passes would be allowed via Seerani Arangam entrance on Foreshore Road.

Parking space has been arranged for these vehicles on Foreshore Road from Seerani Arangam to Labour Statue, the release said.
