Following the withdrawal of four-day flash strike by the trailer lorry drivers and cleaners since November 13, normality was restored at the Chennai Port Trust (ChPT) on Wednesday.
ChPT officials told The Hindu that though they were able to evacuate import containers at a brisk space, the same could not be done for export containers and it might take at least three to four days to restore normality.
Currently, no vessel was waiting to be berthed.

Regardless of the flash strike, the Chennai Container Terminal Ltd (CCTL) handled over 8,500 import and export containers to various destinations such as Far East, Colombo, Singapore, China and Europe.
The vessels that called at the Chennai Port are Tatania Schulte (495 units), Tiger Star (1,685 units), CAP Meville (808 units), IBN Al Abbar (974 units), Maersk Dampier (1,087 units), Tiger Bridge (2,109 units), Hyundai Vladivostok (1,235 units) and Morotai (341 units).
