Kabali to release on July 22

Putting an end to over a month of speculation, the makers of Superstar Rajinikanth’s next film ‘Kabali’ announced on twitter that the movie would release on July 22.

Producer Kalaippuli S. Thanu tweeted from the official handle, ‘theVCreations’, that the movie would be releasing worldwide on that date, and that they ‘couldn’t be more excited’.

Over the last few weeks, there was intense speculation and discussions online among fans that the movie’s release might get postponed to August.

Censor baord screening

The screening of the movie for the Censor board took place at the Blue Ocean Film and Television Academy (BOFTA) in Chennai on Monday and the film, which has a run time of 152 minutes was given a clean ‘U’ certificate. The founder of BOFTA, Dhananjayan Govind, too tweeted a photo of the ‘Kabali’ team including Director Pa, Ranjith, at the institute and said that he was happy to host the first screening of the movie.

After the release of the songs in Tamil and Telugu, excitement has been steadily building up for the movie with the songs notching up a number of hits on YouTube.

Hindi version of songs

The Hindi version of the songs, are expected to release on Tuesday.
