Kabali songs take fans by storm

Despite a leak of songs from Superstar Rajinikanth’s upcoming film Kabali online, Tamil film music lovers took to social media big time to share the official lyric videos of the five tracks composed by Santhosh Narayanan.

While the songs were initially expected to be released on Sunday at 11.06 a.m., the makers sprung a surprise and decided to release the songs from 10 p.m. on Saturday night.

Vaanam Parthen , two songs from the movie, directed by Pa. Ranjith were released on Saturday night itself following the leak of the songs online across illegal music websites. The other three songs from the movie were released on Sunday amidst fan frenzy on social media sites. When the videos were posted, Kabali started trending on Twitter. The song

Neruppu da , which was featured in the first teaser of the movie released in May, had the maximum number of hits on YouTube among the tracks released. It also received a lot of attention from the fans for the short dialogues uttered by Rajinikanth which the song features.

While producer Kalaippuli S. Thanu had initially tweeted that a 35-second teaser of the movie would also be released, he later clarified that it would take a few more days. Many fans posted online stating that they were waiting eagerly for the trailer of the film.

Kabali is expected to release in July. The Kabali Android app, which was launched on Friday, had over 15,000 downloads as of Sunday. The movie, which co-stars Radhika Apte alongside Rajinikanth also features an ensemble cast of Dhansikaa, Kishore, Dinesh and Kalaiyarasan.
