De-addiction centre to be set up soon

The 20-bed rehabilitation centre for alcohol and drug de-addiction, set up by the Chennai Corporation in Royapettah will be inaugurated in a month.

Inspecting the upcoming facility at Hussain Nagar, Royapettah, Mayor M.Subramanian said Deputy Chief Minister M. K. Stalin would inaugurate the centre, which is to be run with the support of The Hindu Welfare Centre. The centre is being developed with various facilities such as lab and consultation rooms.

The Chennai Corporation would employ doctors, psychiatrists, laboratory technicians and social work assistants for the centre, which is coming up at a cost of Rs.25 lakh.
