All assurances made in the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam manifesto will be fulfilled if the party comes back to power, said Deputy Chief Minister M. K. Stalin on Monday.

The DMK had the right to ask people to vote in its favour as it had implemented various welfare and development schemes in the past five years for the benefit of the poor and downtrodden, elderly people, women, farmers, weavers and people from other walks of life.

Mr. Stalin, who was in Kanyakumari district for campaign, was given a warm welcome at Kaliyakkavilai (Kerala-Tamil Nadu border) by DMK and Congress cadre.

Later, addressing a gathering, he said that apart from fulfilling all promises made in the last elections, the Chief Minister had implemented new schemes such as health insurance scheme, housing scheme, 108 ambulance service and many others.

The people of the State had reposed faith in the DMK in the last elections and the party had not betrayed their faith. In the last five years, it implemented various welfare and development schemes. To continue in the same vein for another five years, he urged people to vote for the DMK and its allies.

Novel schemes such as one kg rice for Re.1, free colour television sets for all, enhancement of marriage assistance from Rs.5,000 to Rs.25,000 and so on were examples of the achievements of the DMK government.

Prince, R. Mahesh, N. Suresh Rajan and Puspha Leel Alben in Vilavancode, Killiyur, Colachel, Nagercoil, Kanyakumari and Padmanabhapuram Assembly segments.
