A walkathon on spreading awareness about the prevention of heart diseases was organised by Global Hospitals and Health City in Perumbakkam on September 29 as part of World Health Day.
Film stars Sarathkumar and Radhika Sarathkumar flagged off the event in the presence of K. Ravindranath, Chairman and Managing Director of Global Hospitals. The event commenced at Mohammed Sathak College premises in Sholinganallur. Global Heart and Lung Institute at Global Health City was inaugurated for comprehensive heart care on the occasion. It offers comprehensive set of cardiology and cardiothoracic surgical solutions ranging from simple procedures to complex surgeries and transplantation of heart and lung.
Heart ailments was among the important causes for death in urban India due to sedentary and stressed modern lifestyles, a note from the hospital said.
