Complaint against theatres

A social activist has lodged a complaint at the City Police Commissioner’s office against some theatres that were allegedly charging exorbitant prices for tickets for the superstar Rajnikanth-starrer Kabali slated for release on Friday (July 22). G. Devarajan, the complainant, said that theatres across the city and State were charging anywhere between Rs. 300 and Rs. 500 per ticket. “There are over 1,500 theatres across the State and over 140 in the city. In Chennai, the minimum price should be Rs. 10 and maximum Rs. 120 and rest of Tamil Nadu it is Rs. 10 and Rs. 50,” said Devarajan .

Meanwhile, the city police helpline 044-23452359, to lodge complaints about over pricing of movie tickets, too received complaints about Kabali tickets.
