Call to regulate TV viewing by children

Educationist Mrs.YG Parthasarathy being felicitated at a function held at Sri R.M.Jain Vidhyashram, Tiruvallur on Wednesday.

Educationist and founder of Padma Seshadri group of schools Mrs. Y.G. Parthasarathy on Wednesday stressed the need to regulate television viewing by children.

Participating in a meeting as a guest of honour at Sri R.M. Jain Vidhyashram, V.M. Nagar, Tiruvallur, she called upon parents to keep a tab on how their children spent their leisure time. The parents should also appreciate their children for their little acts of success and desist from comparing them with other children, she said.

Honorary correspondent N.C. Sridharan commended the services of Mrs. Y.G. Parthasarathy in the field of education and recollected the guidance and support provided by her right from the beginning of Sri R.M.Jain Vidhyashram in 1996. The trustee, Bikham Chand Jain, expressed gratitude to the senior educationist for her support in academic and non-academic activities of the vidhyashram.

Earlier, Mrs. Y.G. Parthasarathy declared open an art and craft gallery on the school premises. Students presented cultural programmes, including yoga, drill, puppet show in Hindi and a Manipuri doll dance. School principal T.K. Radha was present.
