A 26-year-old man died after being hit by an MTC bus at Ashok Nagar, 100 feet road on Tuesday.
G. Saravanan, a businessman residing in Kavangarai, was on his way to meet a friend.
He was riding his motorcycle without a helmet. Around 6.45 p.m., an MTC bus, coming from the opposite side collided with his vehicle, leaving him dead. “He was injured on the head and right shoulder and died on the spot,” said an inspector attached to the Guindy traffic investigation wing.

Police have taken the bus driver R. Arumugam (40), resident of Vandavasi, into custody. — Staff Reporter
