Two persons, suspected to be involved in the murder of neurosurgeon S.D. Subbiah, surrendered at the Egmore Court on Wednesday.
Special teams formed by city police commissioner S. George have fanned out to different parts of Tamil Nadu and other States to hunt for the other six suspects.
According to the police, Basil and his brother Boris gave themselves up in the court.

Basil (26), an advocate, and Boris are sons of Ponnusamy, Subbiah’s step-brother, and are natives of Anjugrammam in Nagercoil. Boris works in a private firm in Bangalore. “The court has remanded them till October 9. We will be taking them into police custody on Thursday for questioning,” said a senior police officer.
The police teams are searching for Annappazham, Ponnusamy, Mary Puspam and three others.
Dr. Subbiah, a 59-year-old neurologist, was brutally hacked by three men at R. A. Puram on September 14. After failing to respond to a week-long treatment, he died on Monday morning.

Subbiah, a resident of Thoraipakkam, retired as professor of neurology from the Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital in July and was employed as consultant in a private hospital on TTK Road.
The attack took place around 5.10 p.m when the doctor was walking from the hospital towards his car parked on 1 st Main Road, C.P. Ramaswamy Road.
The attack by men carrying backpacks was caught on a CCTV camera installed in a building opposite the scene of the crime. Subbiah told investigators that the dispute over a Rs. 15-crore property in Anjugramam had led to the attack.
