17-year-old construction worker dies in wall collapse

A 17-year-old construction worker died after a portion of a compound wall fell on him at Kumananchavadi, Poonamallee, on Sunday morning.

Two others escaped with minor injuries. C. Mohan, of Karambakkam, Porur, and R. Deepa (19) and V. Mannar (53), were digging the foundation for a compound wall for a building when the wall of an adjacent building collapsed on them.

“Mohan suffered a head injury and died on the way to the hospital, but the others are fine and were treated at Kilpauk Medical College Hospital,” Poonamallee police said.
