In an effort to finding probable solutions to making our cities ‘smarter,’ IT professionals worked on the viable solution at the ‘TechNgage’ contest organised by National Association of Software and Services Companies (Nasscom) on Tech Mahindra campus in Sholinganallur on Saturday.

Organisers said it was an effort by the Nasscom to provide a platform to rope in top talent and develop an expert pool that could provide new-age skill base to the industry.

More than 16,000 people from across six cities registered for the contest. A live hackathon wherein participants would be asked to create a live solution around the topic of ‘Your city smart and secure’ was conducted for the shortlisted candidates.

“The idea is to celebrate technology and technologists and make the IT industry ready for future generations,” Sushma Rajagopalan, chairperson of the Nasscom IT Services Council and CEO of ITC Infotech, said. “A lot of these people might have ideas that will get funded through the Nasscom product council,” said N.S. Parthasarathy, president and COO, MindTree Limited.
