Youth stabbed to death over trivial issue

A youth was stabbed to death over a trivial issue at Basavanapura in Hulimavu here on Sunday evening.

Police identified the murdered man as Rajesh (20), a resident of Kalkere village. Two other youths, Shivu and Balaji in their late teens, were injured in the incident.

Hulimavu police detained more than 10 youths from the spot. Youths from Basavanapura and Billavaradanahalli had gathered in the playground and a dispute reportedly erupted between the two groups over a trivial issue. Soon the two groups clashed and an unidentified person stabbed Rajesh in his abdomen. Shivu and Balaji were assaulted with a cricket bat.
